Before the exams in Singapore, the principal of a school sent a letter to the parents of the children which read as follows.
Dear Parents,
Your children's exams are going to start soon. I know you all are very anxious that your child should do well in the exams.
But remember, these kids who are taking exams are also future artists who don't need to understand maths.
It will also have spokespersons from big companies who do not need to understand English literature and history.
Among these children, there may be (future) writers for whom low marks in chemistry mean nothing and will not affect their future.
These children may also be athletes whose fitness is more important than their physics marks.
So if your child gets more marks, great; but if he doesn't get more marks, God will not take away his confidence and his greatness from that child.
If they don't get very good marks despite their hard work, they will be encouraged that it doesn't matter, it was just a small test, they are meant to do something bigger in life.
