An old man and a pregnant woman were waiting for the bus at the bus stop.

A classic short story from Russian literature.

An old man and a pregnant woman were waiting for the bus at the bus stop.

The old man was curiously looking at the woman's stomach. He asked: In which month are you?

The woman was worried. The worry was evident from her sad face. At first, she didn't pay any attention to the old man's question. Then, after a few moments, she replied, "I am in my twenty-third week."

The old man then asked: "Is this your first birth?"

The woman replied, "Yes."

The old man said: "No need to worry." Don't worry, everything will be fine.

The woman put her hand on her stomach in distress and looked at him, holding back her tears.

The old man said: It happens that a person's sense of anxiety sometimes increases over things that do not require much thought.

The pregnant woman replied sadly, "Maybe."

The old man looked more curious. You seem to be going through a difficult time. Why is your husband not with you?

He replied, "He left me four months ago."

The old man asked: Are your family members and any other loved ones with you?

The woman took a deep breath and said, "I live only with my sick father."

The old man said, "I find it a strong support."

Tears fell from her eyes and she said, "
Yes, even when he's in that state."

The old man asked: "What ailment does he have?"

The woman replied, "He doesn't remember who I am."

He uttered his last sentence a few moments after the arrival of the bus that was going to take them.

She got up and said, "Our bus has arrived."

She turned back and held him by the hand, saying,
Let's go, Daddy!!!
